FOUR PILLARS OF HUMAN LIFE

In his book,In the Realm of the Hungry Ghosts, Gabor Mate, M. D., says that “Human life, I believe, is balanced on four pillars: physical health, emotional integration, intellectual awareness, and spiritual  practice. There are no prescriptions for the latter. ‘Be a lamp unto yourselves,’ said the Buddha.”

For me, I have found that finding time to accommodate these four pillars into my daily routine is challenging but hugely  rewarding.  They offer riches beyond compare, like feeling I’m on the path my higher power expects me to be.
