Imagine being free from cravings forever!
Imagine yourself looking at tempting foods like chocolate cake, french fries, pizza and hamburgers and being able to simply ignore them, walk right past them.
Well, according to a new study published in NeuroReport, what can make that possible is working out. In the study, when active people viewed pictures of cake, burgers and other junk food, the regions in their brains associated with appetite were quieter than those of sedentary people. Lead author William D. S. Killgore, Ph.D., of McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School said that exercise increases sensitivity to the appetite-regulating hormone leptin, which may lower the appeal of high-calorie foods.
Now we have another reason to work out!
