“All our problems stem from the basic premise that we’re not good enough”, says Louise L. Hay, author of You Can Heal Your Life.
No statement is more true than that one. I know. As I write in my latest book Journey to Self-Esteem, there was a time in my life when I didn’t think I was good enough, deserved to be happy or be successful.
But all that changed when I decided to change my lifestyle and began to lift weights and study psychology. I now wanted to know where the beliefs that had driven my life up to that point had come from. When I realized they had come from my family of origin and those around me at the time, I knew I had to let them go. I told myself I refused to continue to live by someone else’s beliefs.
I now needed to create my own beliefs and start living by them. And so began my journey to self-esteem. I have not arrived at my destination yet because this is a life-long process. But life does get better and brings more happiness with each step.
I will be posting my Introduction on my emelina.com web site for anyone interested in reading it. The book will be available on Amazon and Garden District Bookshop shortly.
